Sayur asem Other than sayur asem, you may have heard of dishes such as lalap , karedok (similar to gado-gado , but with the emphasis of using raw vegetables), ayam bekakak/grilled chicken , soto bandung/beef and daikon soup , and ikan. Sayur asem is a sweet and sour vegetable soup. Often referred to as tamarind soup, it is one of the favorite vegetable dishes in Indonesia.

Bahan Membuat Sayur asem

  1. It's 2 buah of labu siam (potong kotak).
  2. It's 250 gram of melinjo.
  3. It's Segenggam of daun melinjo.
  4. Prepare 150 gram of Kacang tanah.
  5. It's 2 lembar of daun Salam.
  6. You need 20 gram of Lengkuas.
  7. You need 1 of jagung manis (potong 5cm).
  8. It's 1 batang of sereh (geprek).
  9. It's 2,5 ltr of air putih.
  10. You need 1 bungkus of Asem jawa / 75 gram (beri air panas segelas, lalu saring ambil airnya buang bijinya).
  11. You need 2 gandu of kecil Gula merah.
  12. It's 3 sdm of gula putih.
  13. You need 3 sdt of garam.
  14. You need Secukupnya of penyedap (bila perlu).
  15. Prepare of Bumbu halus.
  16. It's 5 siung of bawang merah.
  17. Prepare 3 siung of bawang putih.
  18. You need 1 of cabe merah besar.
  19. It's 2 sdm of kacang tanah.

Langkah Memasak Sayur asem

  1. Didihkan air putih lalu masukan melinjo, salam, sereh & lengkuas, tutup panci biarkan 15 menit.
  2. Masukan bumbu halus ke dlm panci, lalu masukan jagung & kacang tanah masak selama 10 menit, lalu masukan labu siam, masak sebentar lalu masukan daun melinjo & kacang panjang.
  3. Bumbui dengan air asem, garam, gula & penyedap, koreksi rasa lalu sajikan.

Several variations exist including Sayur Asem Jakarta (a version from the Betawi people of Jakarta), Sayur Asem Kangkung (a version which includes water spinach (kangkung)), etc. Common ingredients are long beans (kacang panjang), young jackfruit (nangka muda), Gnetum gnemon. Bahkan setiap daerah memiliki rasa dan variasi sayur yang berbeda ada yang ditambah dengan ikan maupun daging sebagai bahan utamanya. Meski sayur asem beragam, tapi semua rasanya enak kok.
